The ”Pazirik” collection of ornaments replicates the decorative patterns of the ”Pazirik” rug, dated to the 5th–4th centuries BCE. It was discovered in 1949 in an ancient burial site located in the Pazirik region of the Altai Mountains. The rug remained preserved for around 2,500 years in eternal ice. German scientist Volkmar Ganzhorn demonstrated that the rug has Armenian roots, as it is woven using the Armenian double knot technique, its patterns are derived from the frescoes of Urartian Armenian royal palaces, and the rug’s red color was obtained from ”Vordan Karmir” (Armenian cochineal dye). The original Pazirik rug is housed in the Hermitage Museum in Saint Petersburg.
