The ՛՛Gohar՛՛ rug design dates back to 1680 and has an Armenian inscription woven on it. This rug design belongs to the Dragon rug family. In the center there is a cross as part of the ՛՛Tree of Jesse՛՛ ornament. This exquisite and one of a kind rug was woven by an Armenian woman named Gohar. Her inscription translates as follows: ՛՛I Gohar, consider myself guilty and mentally weak, made this rug with my own hands. Let all who read this inscription pray to God to absolve me of my sins.՛՛
